About D.J. Shockley
DJ Shockley is one of the rare athletes that managed to play his high school, college and professional ball in the same state.
A native of College Park, Georgia, Shockley played his prep ball at Clayton High School and then starred at the University of Georgia. While playing at UGA he led the Bulldogs to two SEC Championships in 2002 and 2005 and earned First Team All-SEC honors as a senior in 2005.
After his final season he was selected in the 7th round of the NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons, which allowed him to stay close to home. He spent the majority of his time in the NFL as a back up but was a valuable member of the Falcons franchise during that time.
After the 2010 season he signed with the United Football League’s Omaha Nighthawks and remained with the team until 2011. Since his retirement from football he has become a highly sought after speaker at camps in the Atlanta area and now spends his time with his wife and young daughter.
