Chaplain (Major) Anthony Foxworth was born in Memphis, TN where his father, a retired Army Chaplain, was attending seminary. He grew up in a Christian home, living around the world as an Army dependent. At the age of 8 he accepted Christ at Oak Grove Baptist Church, outside the gate of Fort Campbell, KY. He was a Military Policeman for 7.5 years, obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant, serving in combat operations in Operation Iraqi Freedom I & II (2003-2004). While in Iraq God confirmed his call to ministry and ultimately to the Army chaplaincy.
In 2005, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant (2LT) in the Army Chaplain Candidate program and moved to Albany, NY to attend seminary. The Foxworth’s stated a Bible study in their home and subsequently planted River of Life Church with the North American Mission Board (NAMB), which Chaplain Foxworth pastored for almost 7 years. In 2013, he answered the call to transition to active-duty Army chaplaincy and has served God and Country at Fort Polk, Louisiana, Fort Hood, Texas, and currently at Fort Benning, GA.
Chaplain Foxworth has served in the Army for over 22 years, including active duty, Army Reserves, and the Army National Guard.
